Literacy
At Te Parito Kōwhai Russley School, literacy includes reading, writing, oral language, spelling and handwriting. These are taught through structured approaches, enabling all students to read for meaning and enjoyment, and to communicate ideas effectively through speaking and writing.
Our whole school follows The Writing Revolution (TWR) approach to teaching writing which focuses on explicit instruction, sentence-level skills, and the integration of writing into content area instruction.
