Principal’s Welcome

Tēnā koutou katoa. Nau mai, haere mai ki te kura nei. Talofa lava, Mālō e lelei, Bula vinaka, Ni hao, welcome.

Russley School was established in 1963 and is a full primary school (Years 1-8) in north-west Christchurch, New Zealand, where our roll is between 420 - 480. The school has 20 classrooms, two halls, a library, robotics studio and two playing fields providing plenty of space for student recreation activities.

Russley School has three important strategic goals that shape everything we do.

“Growing Together”
Brave, resilient champions
of our learning.

“Walking Together”
Nurturing an inclusive,
respectful community.

“Creating Together”
Inspiring confident
innovators of tomorrow.

The school’s dispositions encourage students and staff to be respectful, self-aware, self-managers, team players, creative, problem solvers and healthy.

Russley has embraced a dual name for our school, Te Paritō Kōwhai, meaning the rejuvenation from the centre of the Kōwhai tree; something we encourage in all our learners through building positive attitudes to learning.

The school is proud of its team of dedicated, talented teachers and support staff, supported by a highly competent BOT and enthusiastic parent community.  Together, we make the Russley team.  The student whānau stem from all corners of the world and Russley celebrates its cultural diversity.

I look forward to meeting you and showing you around our school.
