Russley Primary School, established in 1963, is a full primary school in the north-west of Christchurch, New Zealand. The school contributes largely to Riccarton High School.
The roll ranges between 400 - 450 pupils.
The school has an ethnic mix of pupils comprising mainly New Zealanders with the next prominent groups being Chinese and Korean.
The school focuses on innovative pedagogy. Values education is promoted along with quality curriculum programmes.
Russley School prides itself on the high work standards and behaviour achieved by the pupils. Along with effective curriculum teaching the school has strong programmes in sport and extra-curricular e.g. music and drama.
The school has a total of seventeen classrooms, library, hall and computer suite. Playing fields, comprehensive adventure playgrounds and paved court areas are well laid out. A building initiative developed after consultation with the school community was completed at the start of the 2011 school year. This provided a new hall/gymnasium facility. Plans will now commence to revitalise the current hall into a new Library which will include an Information and Technology hub.
Parents play a vital role and work in partnership with the school to support student learning.
