Chess Club


The chess club meets every Monday lunchtime in terms 2 and 3. Students can play competition chess or social chess. 

Each year Russley school enters teams in 'The Press Chess Competition'.  This is an interschool chess tournament between teams of four players run in Canterbury, New Zealand.  The Inter-School Chess Charitable Trust Board run inter-school chess in Canterbury.

This year the Year 5 and 6 competitions were held at Russley School.  Our teams played well and showed great sportsmanship.  Thank you to Mr Ward for your expert tuition and amazing IT skills for the scoreboard.
